Current members who have maintained membership in the Tollesboro Lions Club for 50 Consecutive Years or More have their names listed in "red". Current members whose names are listed in "blue" have maintained membership in the Tollesboro Lions Club for 25 Consecutive Years or more (but less than 50 years). NOTE: It should be noted that the Club was blessed to have had 2 Charter Members who maintained membership for 50 years or more, maintaining membership from the club's organization until their respective passings, Julian "Elmo" Gillespie who served for 50 years (passing in 2004) and Samuel "Mack" Wright who served for 61 years (passing in 2015)!

On April 30, 2004, the Tollesboro Lions Club celebrated it's 50th Anniversary. Two charter members survived and maintained their membership in the club for 50 years, Samuel M. "Mack" Wright and Julian E. "Elmo" Gillespie (however only one charter member made it to celebrate the 50th Anniversary, as Elmo Gillesie died Feb. 23, 2004, just weeks prior to the celebration of the club's 50th Anniversary Celebration; however he did serve the Tollesboro Lions Club for a full 50 years as was involved in the Club's organization. Recently discovered documents indicate that the first organizational meeting was held in December, 1953, several months prior to the Club's Official Charter Signing).
Samuel M. "Mack" Wright passed away February, 20, 2015 (3 days shy of 11 years after the death of fellow Charter Member Julian "Elmo" Gillespie), having been a member of the club for 61 years.
